This week Mac Miller did something that had not been done since Tha Dogg Pound "Dogg Food" and debuted number 1 on the Billboard 200 as an independent rap act. I find it hard to believe that since Napster sprung up and made music downloading readily available has someone or the music industry used free music as a form of promotion to make their music highly accessible. Particularly after inventions like Twitter, blogs, Youtube and the album killer iTunes has anyone harnessed the full power of the internet to not sell singles but give them away to sell albums independently. I say all this cause I think The Dean's List could be the next act to do so. Since The Dean's List dropped what I think was one of the most complete projects of this year, The Drive-In, they have been on fire dropping "Caveman", "Plutonic", "Kryptonite Sanity Room" and "All My Troubles". After just wrapping up the 40 plus show Pledge To Rage Tour along side OnCue and Gilbere Forte they keep the music coming with "Unbelievers". With the group handling the writing, production, and mixing there is no reason not to believe in The Dean's List's ability to keep the hits coming.
Enjoy.
Enjoy.
